Mayor of Novi Sad Mr. Miloš Vučević, together with representatives of the City SUBNOR Committee, Serbian Armed Forces, Novi Sad Reserve Officers’ Organization, as well as the Russian Embassy, laid wreaths at the Fallen NWL Soldiers Memorial, on the occasion of May 9th – Victory in Europe Day.

Novi Sad Mayor Miloš Vučević attended the grant awarding of the brand "Lav" and the Carlsberg Company in Serbia to the PUC “Animal Hygiene and Veterinary Novi Sad", which was selected by the citizens of Novi Sad within the "Lavovski poduhvat" campaing.

City Council member for Economy Mr. Goran Sečujski, MSc, held a press conference to mark the participation of the City Administration for Economy at the upcoming 82nd International Agricultural Fair, which will begin on Saturday, 9th May and last until 15th May.

Member of the City Council in charge of economy Mr. Goran Sečujski, MSc, and deputy manager of the National Employment Service Mr. Dragan Sikimić opened the first edition of this year's Job Fair organized by the City of Novi Sad and the National Employment Service. The event is held on April 23rd in the west hall of PC “Sports and Business Center Vojvodina”, from 10 a.m. to 15 p.m., and so far the majority of employers have applied, 69 of them with 435 jobs on offer.

Mayor of Novi Sad Miloš Vučević attended the draw ceremony of the Fed Cup World Group II Play-Offs between Serbia and Paraguay. Team Serbia includes Ana Ivanovic, Jelena Janković, Aleksandra Krunić and Ivana Jorović, while team captain is Tatjana Ječmenica-Jevtić. Veronica Cepede Royg, Montserrat Gonzalez, Sara Gimenez, Camila Giangreco Campiz consistitute the Paraguay team, with team captain Ramon Delgado.

Fair exhibitions – 21st International Book Fair and 20th International Art Expo – opened today, and will last until April 25th at the Novi Sad Fair. The two events were officially opened by the Matica Srpska President Professor Dragan Stanić, PhD. The ceremony was also attended by the Member of the Novi Sad City Council in charge for Culture Mr. Vanja Vučenović, who pointed out that the City of Novi Sad recognizes the importance of such traditional cultural events.

Mayor of Novi Sad Mr. Miloš Vučević congratulated young Serbian mathematician their silver medal, won at the European Mathematical Olympiad in Minsk. Among Serbian representatives, one of them is Kristina Silađi, a “Jovan Jovanović” Grammar School Student from Novi Sad, who won the bronze medal.

Member of the Novi Sad City Council in charge for Education Mr. Vladimir Jelić, MSc, together with the Head of the Mayor’s Office Mr. Aleksandar Petrović, received today the “Dositej Obradović” from Novi Sad and “Selnica na Dravi” from Selnice na Dravi, Primary School delegations. The visiting delegation from Slovenia, headed by the principal Ms. Jožica Ozmec, are returning the visit  to the Novi Sad school, since it is pupils and teachers from “Dositej Obradović” who spent a week in December last year in Slovenia.

Due to the state of disrepair of asphalt in the streets of Novi Sad, particularly following the winter season, numerous potholes appear that create problems to our drivers, as well as to other participants in traffic. PUE “Put” teams regularly repair these defects, although due to numerous other duties this company is   responsible for, sometimes these potholes cannot be detected in time, they can rapidly expand in size, and the problems they cause can escalate.

Mayor of Novi Sad Miloš Vučević welcomed in the City Hall young inventor from Novi Sad Jovana Kondić, who won three gold medals at the 18th Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovation Technologies "Archimedes".

At the competition, Jovana presented her invention – thermal insulating panel made of zeolite, cellulose fibers and cement, which has been assessed as excellent for its high efficiency, non-flammability and recyclability, that makes it environmentally-friendly.
