Mayor of Novi Sad Miloš Vučević received the Ambassador of Portugal to Serbia H.E. Maria Virgínia Mendes da Silva Pina at the City Hall

He welcomed her to the current European Youth Capital and the European Capital of Culture in 2021 and emphasized that Novi Sad is investing heavily in international cooperation and strengthening ties with other cities around the world, as it strives to apply positive experiences and models from other successful environments in its own surrounding, when addressing the important issues.

Mayor Miloš Vučević received the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany H. Е. Thomas Schieb who is visiting Novi Sad to mark the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The project “Lime Trees & Honey Bees for Sustainable Development of the Danube Microregion” has been shortlisted in the European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA) of the European Commission. The awards are given in five categories for outstanding examples of support and promotion of entrepreneurship in Europe and announcement of the winners for 2016 will be held on 24th November in Bratislava.

The member of the City Council for the Economy, Milorad Radojević, attended the presentation of the Programme of Cooperation between the Science and the Economy organised by the Innovation Fund of the Republic of Serbia and the Regional Agency for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises “Alma Mons” with the support of the Administration for Economy of the City of Novi Sad.

Pecs, a twin city of Novi Sad, is the host of a business meeting for networking “Open4Business”,  as well as of the accompanying conference jointly organised with the Pecs-Baranya Chamber of Commerce and the Enterprise Europe Network from 19th  to 21st  September in that city. The participants at the event are companies and economic associations from Hungary, Croatian, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Serbia and other European countries.

The Mayor of Novi Sad, Miloš Vučević, has met with the representatives of the Embassy of Greece at City Hall. The Greek delegation is led by the Adviser for Economic and Trade Affairs at the Embassy of Greece, Katerina Cunaku, while the member of the City Council for the Economy, Milorad Radojević, and the Head of the Office for Local Economic Development, Goran Sečujski, MSci, have been at the meeting on behalf of the City.

The Mayor of Novi Sad, Miloš Vučević and the President of the Government of Vojvodina, Igor Mirović, have visited the site in the Novi Sad Industrial Zone “North  4” where the works on the construction of infrastructure are underway. On that occasion, they have placed a time capsule at the building and put a message written at the spot in it and then each of them inserted a coin for good luck.

The Mayor of Novi Sad, Miloš Vučević, together with his associates, that is, the Deputy Mayor, Srđan Kružević, members of the City Council, Vladimir Stojković and Milorad Radojević, as well as with the Head of the Office for Local Economic Development, Goran Sečujski, held a meeting at City Hall with the representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, headed by the Director, Daniel Berg and bankers Jelena Čelenković  and Marina Jukić.

The Mayor of Novi Sad, Miloš Vučević, attended the opening ceremony of the Fifth Regional Fair of Youth Tourism “OPENS Youth Fair 2016”. This fair brings together at one place all most attractive cities in the region, various festivals and events. In addition to the presentation of the tourist offer for young people in the Balkans, all those who visit the fair will be able to inform themselves about how they can become participants in interesting projects which promote the most attractive destinations.

The City of Novi Sad is paving the way of the Smart Cities already present in the world, which is witnessed by numerous projects that have been implemented for several past years in the City. All of them will be presented in the framework of an international conference of IoT Week (Internet of Things Week) which is to take place from May 31st to June 2nd , at the Hotel Crowne Plaza in Belgrade.
