Maja Čeremidžić Šainović, member of the City Council in charge of Culture, attended the presentation of the book “Rg Veda – An Insight into the Epitome” by Dr Momir Nikić. The publication is a major work that, for the first time, presents a translation of the oldest Indo-European text from the original into Serbian, highlighting the deep linguistic connections between Sanskrit and the Serbian language.

The Mayor of Novi Sad Žarko Mićin has officially handed over 150 new computers to the Novi Sad Health Centre, funded from the city budget. The computers were received on behalf of the Health Centre by Dr Tatjana Pokuševski, with Sonja Radaković, City Council Member for Social Protection, Family and Child Care, and Healthcare, also in attendance.

The Mayor of Novi Sad Žarko Mićin met with the Ambassador of Ukraine to Serbia H.E. Oleksandr Lytvynenko at City Hall to explore opportunities for future collaboration and to consider concrete initiatives that could enhance cultural, educational, and social ties.

The discussion included measures to ensure the proper protection and restoration of the Taras Shevchenko monument.

The Mayor of Novi Sad Žarko Mićin held an official meeting with H.E. Anke Konrad, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Serbia, at the City Hall.

The Mayor of Novi Sad, Žarko Mićin, attended the Ceremonial Academy held at the Serbian National Theatre to mark the 200th anniversary of the founding of Matica srpska, the oldest literary, cultural and scholarly institution of the Serbian people, on the date of its establishment in Pest in 1826. Matica srpska was founded with the aim of preserving the identity, culture, language and historical memory of the Serbian people in the Habsburg Monarchy, and it was relocated to Novi Sad in 1864.

The Mayor of Novi Sad, Žarko Mićin, extended his greetings to members of the Chinese community on the occasion of the forthcoming Lunar New Year.

Тhe Mayor of Novi Sad Žarko Mićin received His Excellency Mr Abhishek Shukla, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Republic of Serbia, in the Ceremonial Hall of City Hall on his first official visit. The Ambassador took up his post earlier this year. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in the fields of the digital economy, education, culture and sustainable tourism, as well as on strengthening links between institutions and business communities, in light of the most recent cooperation protocols signed between Serbia and India.

The Mayor of Novi Sad, Žarko Mićin, met at the City Hall with His Excellency Edward Ferguson, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Serbia. The Mayor expressed great pleasure at the visit and at the continued strong co-operation with the British Embassy in Belgrade.

The Mayor of Novi Sad, Žarko Mićin, attended the conference “Ramsar Wetland City – World Wetlands Day”, held at the Cultural Station “Eđšeg” to mark World Wetlands Day.

The Mayor of Novi Sad Žarko Mićin and the Deputy Mayor of the Cypriot city of Larnaca Iason Iasonidis signed an Agreement on Understanding and Cooperation at City Hall, thereby formally establishing a partnership between the two cities and opening new opportunities for the development of international relations and joint initiatives.
