SLOVAK CITY KOŠICE DELEGATION VISITS NOVI SAD
Novi Sad hosted a delegation from the Slovak City of Košice, led by Igor Petrovčik, the Mayor of Košice's Old Town, who was welcomed by Milan Đurić, the Mayor. The noteworthy collaboration in the area of culture that has so far been achieved was the topic of discussion at the City Hall meeting, particularly in light of the fact that both cities held the title of the European Capitals of Culture.
They concluded that there are many advantages to that largest European cultural undertaking, and that both environments benefited much from the exchange of artists, programs, and experiences. Mayors Đurić and Petrovčik expressed their happiness with the historically cordial relations between the two nations and peoples. They specifically mentioned how many and socially engaged the Slovak community is in Novi Sad, and how much the City invests in preserving their culture, traditions, and customs. Multiculturalism, according to Đurić, is one of Novi Sad's greatest assets. The City has long espoused a tolerance for variety.
The meeting's representatives reaffirmed their commitment to advancing inter-city collaboration and incorporating culturally-based best practices into other spheres of the business, education, and sports. Igor Petrovčik, the Mayor of Košice's Old Town, expressed gratitude to the Kisač Cultural and Information Center in particular for the support the City offers to Slovak national community members. Along with Novi Sad, Košice is the second largest city in the nation and serves as the administrative, academic, and commercial hub of its region, according to his assessment. As he stated, there are many parallels between the two cities, which creates favorable circumstances for fostering collaboration.
