JAPANESE AMBASSADOR VISITS NOVI SAD
H.E. Akira Imamura, the Japanese Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia and Milan Đurić, the Mayor of Novi Sad, met in the City Hall during the Ambassador's first official visit.
Mayor Đurić expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for the Japanese people's unselfish support of Serbia via multiple donations in a variety of fields, both nationally and locally. He stated that in Novi Sad, it was mostly seen in the areas of science, education, and culture; it was also seen in the scope of the European Capital of Culture program, as well as via collaboration at the university and scientific institution levels.
According to the interlocutors, the peoples of Serbia and Japan have been fond of each other for a long time as a consequence of their positive diplomatic ties, and they both want to see more economic and cultural cooperation between their nations.
Mayor Đurić highlighted that Japanese businesses had the chance to witness firsthand how Novi Sad is a great place to live, work, and invest. They talked about the expanding Japanese business community in Serbia in this context, highlighting "Nidec" a global leader in electric motor manufacturing that recently established two facilities in Novi Sad. In addition to the fact that many people are employed and new technologies are being used, the Mayor concluded that this is noteworthy since it serves as a solid referral for other Japanese investors.
The Japanese Embassy and the City of Novi Sad aspire to continue their beneficial partnership in the future, as indicated by Ambassador Imamura and Mayor Đurić.
