Mayor of Novi Sad Mr. Miloš Vučević congratulated young Serbian mathematician their silver medal, won at the European Mathematical Olympiad in Minsk. Among Serbian representatives, one of them is Kristina Silađi, a “Jovan Jovanović” Grammar School Student from Novi Sad, who won the bronze medal.

Member of the Novi Sad City Council in charge for Education Mr. Vladimir Jelić, MSc, together with the Head of the Mayor’s Office Mr. Aleksandar Petrović, received today the “Dositej Obradović” from Novi Sad and “Selnica na Dravi” from Selnice na Dravi, Primary School delegations. The visiting delegation from Slovenia, headed by the principal Ms. Jožica Ozmec, are returning the visit  to the Novi Sad school, since it is pupils and teachers from “Dositej Obradović” who spent a week in December last year in Slovenia.

Due to the state of disrepair of asphalt in the streets of Novi Sad, particularly following the winter season, numerous potholes appear that create problems to our drivers, as well as to other participants in traffic. PUE “Put” teams regularly repair these defects, although due to numerous other duties this company is   responsible for, sometimes these potholes cannot be detected in time, they can rapidly expand in size, and the problems they cause can escalate.

Mayor of Novi Sad Miloš Vučević welcomed in the City Hall young inventor from Novi Sad Jovana Kondić, who won three gold medals at the 18th Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovation Technologies "Archimedes".

At the competition, Jovana presented her invention – thermal insulating panel made of zeolite, cellulose fibers and cement, which has been assessed as excellent for its high efficiency, non-flammability and recyclability, that makes it environmentally-friendly.

Member of the City Council in charge of sports and youth Predrag Svilar welcomed in the City Hall young male and female handballers who represented Novi Sad at the 19th Do Cup in Dortmund. Members of the handball club of the Kingoskolen Primary School from Denmark also attended the reception, since they are currently in Novi Sad, hosted by their peers from the Prva Vojvođanska Brigada Primary School.

Member of the City Council in charge of economy Goran Sečujski, MSc, opened the 5th Beekeeping Fair “Honey Days 2015”, at the main Trg slobode City square. The Fair is taking place from 17th to 19th of April, and gathers beekeepers who exhibit honey-based products, beekeeping equipment, cosmetics and products based on honey, local wines, medicinal wine and teas, confectionery products and handicrafts from cottage industries.

EU Delegation to Serbia supports the candidacy of Novi Sad for European Youth Capital 2018, said Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport.

The Serbia Fashion Week, an international fashion and design festival, will take place 22nd-27th April in the Congress Center of the Novi Sad Fair. On the occasion, member of the City Council in charge of culture Vanja Vučenović hosted a press conference.

An educational debate has been held on the occasion of Novi Sad Youth Safety Week, attended by the Mayor of Novi Sad Mr. Miloš Vučević, where numerous experts in the area of safety gave presentations to Novi Sad primary and secondary school pupils. Members of the Students Parliament were addressed by the Mayor, experts from numerous state institutions, as well as by the NGO representatives.
