Mayor of the City of Novi Sad Mr. Мilоš Vučеvić attended the celebration of the feast Nativity of the Theotokos in Grаčаnica, which from this year is also celebrated as the Day of the Municipality of Grаčаnicа. Mayor and the Novi Sad delegation attended the archpriest service held at the Grаčаnicа Monastery, followed by the procession through the town.

City Administration for Culture, together with the Novi Sad Big Band organizes ‘Music Evenings at the Old Range-Eđšеg’, during which the Eđšеg (4, Antona Čеhоvа Street), will host from September 22nd to October 29th a range of eight concerts performed by most renowned musicians. On this occasion, representatives of the media were addressed by the Member of the City Council in charge for Culture Mr. Vаnjа Vučеnоvić and the conductor of the Novi Sad Big Band Mr. Fеdоr Vrtаčnik.

Member of the City Council in charge of social and children's welfare, Mr. Nikola Ćirović, and Head of Novi Sad Mayor’s Office, Mr. Aleksandar Petrović, welcomed representatives of the Italian City of Modena in the Novi Sad City Hall. Mr. Giovanni Franco Orlando from the Bureau for European Policies and International Relations and Mr. Luca De Pietri, official of the Emilia-Romagna region, came on behalf of Modena, Novi Sad’s twin city.

Member of the City Council in charge for Roads and Traffic Mr. Nemanja Vukčеvić attended the workshop at the ‘Pеtеfi Šаndоr’ Primary School, held on the occasion of ‘Car-Free Days’. The Educational class is organized by the Novi Sad Coordination Council in charge for road safety, together with the City Administration for Traffic. The aim of the workshop is to educate children and instruct them about safe cycling.

Mayor of the City of Novi Sad Mr. Мilоš Vučеvić stated that regarding the two political rallies which took place today in the Sloboda Square, that everybody has right to assemble, and that he did not participate in planning nor in activities of the Novi Sad Board of the Serbian Progressive Party. He also added that he is surprised and disappointed that the President of the City Board of the Democratic Party Mr. Vеlјkо Krstоnоšić failed to heed his call for the meeting at the City Hall and discuss the situation in town.

Representatives of eight European cities which have been firmly supporting Novi Sad for the last several years, as well as its 2021 European Culture Capital Candidacy, visited Novi Sad and held a meeting with City officials and representatives of the Organization Board. Their visit to Novi Sad is the final major event prior to the Conference of the Council of Danube Cities and Regions in Brussels on October 16th, at which Novi Sad will present and submit its candidacy.

Within the “Gitarijada Vojvodine” Music Event held on September 11th and 12th at the “Tatre” Football Club Stadium in Kisač, the audience was presented with photographs of the 1970 rock bands, taken by Mr. Zоrаn Vеsеlinоvić. He said that there is still no influx of migrants to Novi Sad, but that the citizens of Novi Sad show their solidarity through numerous humanitarian relief efforts and actions organized by various civil organizations. First official “Gitarijada” in Vojvodina was held in 1975 in Kisač, where young and still unknown bands were given a chance to perform in front of large audience. After 40 years, this event will be organized again, on September 11th and 12th, at the “Tatre” Football Club Stadium, was announced today at the press conference held in the Cultural-Information Center in Kisač.
