Mayor of Novi Sad Mr. Miloš Vučević held a press-conference today at the City Hall, on the occasion of signing the special collective contract for public utility and other public enterprises, between the City of Novi Sad and three representative trade unions.

 

The Local Economic Development Office of Novi Sad organized a presentation of the “Smart Cities” program entitled "Novi Sad, a smart city – activities and opportunities" for the representatives of SMEs from the territory of Novi Sad, primarily IT companies, telecom operators, Internet providers, innovation centers, programming companies and other ICT stakeholders.

Prof. Marijana Dukić Mijatović, PhD, Manager of the Local Economic Development Office addressed the attendees on behalf of the City of Novi Sad:

 

Vice-President of Government of Serbia and Minister of State Administration and Local Self-government Ms. Kori Udovički visited City of Novi Sad and discussed with Mayor Vučević the state administration employees’ rationalization plan. As she further clarified, this is only one of the visits the Ministry has been conducting since this summer to all municipalities, with the intention of preparing measures to be realized in order to implement fiscal consolidation of the state budget.

The closing conference of the project "Public Property Management" was held today at the Master Centre of the Novi Sad Fair. The project worth 147,267.43 EUR is funded by the European Union in the amount of 112,320.87 EUR within the EU Exchange 4 Programme and is implemented by the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities. The City of Novi Sad is the project coordinator and the Municipality of Apatin is the co-applicant. The aim is to contribute to the modern management of public property in two municipalities, in line with the European best practice.

Responding to an initiative of the Republika Srpska Librarians’ Association, City of Novi Sad has prepared a humanitarian contingent of books, collected in order to replenish the flood-stricken library collections of several municipalities in Republika Srpska. The 10 000-large book donation has been handed to the Doboj National Library director Ms. Slavica Gostimirović, MA by the member of the Novi Sad City Council in charge for Culture Mr. Vanja Vučenović and by the Head of the Mayor’s Office Mr. Aleksandar Petrović.

 

Mayor of Novi Sad Mr. Miloš Vučević attended the celebration held on the occasion of the “Guliver” kindergarten’s patron saint – Saint Sava, and extended his wishes for a successful and prosperous year ahead to the whole staff, and particularly to the children.

 

Mayor of Novi Sad Mr. Miloš Vučević attended the St. Sava Festive Academy held on the occasion of school patron saint, which has been traditionally organized for the 14th time by the representatives of the Mileva Marić Technical School of Novi Sad.

Students of the school, together with their teachers, organized the Festive Academy attended by the principals and headmasters of Novi Sad primary and secondary schools, as well as by numerous guests, partners and associates.

Memorial plaque commemorating the victims of the Novi Sad Razzia was revealed as part of the infamous pogrom 73rd anniversary. The plaque was set up on the edifice façade at 1, Kralja Aleksandra St. commemorating the Čura Family, whose members perished in the 1942 Novi Sad and Čurug pogroms, and it reads the following inscription „This building was home to the family of Dr. Mihajlo Polit Desančić, a lawyer who defended Svetozar Miletić; of Jovan Subotić, a lawyer, a poet, and editor of the Matica Srpska Letopis; of Ozren Subotić, a travelogue writer; of Dr.

On the occasion of 73rd anniversary of the Novi Sad Razzia, wreaths were laid at the Memorial Complex “Family” by the delegation of the City of Novi Sad, by the representatives of the Government of Republic of Serbia headed by the Minister of Justice Mr. Nikola Selaković, by the Ambassador of the State of Israel H. E. Mr.
