YOUNG ATHLETES LEAVE FOR THE CITY OF DORTUMND

Young athletes of the Vojvodina Athletic Club departed today to the City of Dortmund for the Athletic Games hosted by that city. The young athletes were seen off by the Member of the City Council in charge for Sports and Youth Mr. Predrag Svilar, who stated that participation of our children at this championship represents one of the nicest and most appealing examples of international cooperation between the sister cities of Novi Sad and Dortmund.

- I am very pleased to see that participation of Novi Sad has become a tradition, since the Dortmund Championship is one of the largest competitions for junior selections and there they can represent our city in the best possible manner. Although they are achieving excellent results both home and abroad, we find it very important that athletes from Novi Sad have the opportunity to compete at large sports events abroad and meet their peers from Europe. – said Predrag Svilar and wished the AC Vojvodina team safe trip and a lot of success.

Within the Dortmund Athletic Games, the Nine Cities’ Tournament and German Open Championship have been organized for 20 years now, and this year there are 35 young athletes from Novi Sad AC Vojvodina in 11-, 13-, and 15-years of age categories.
