SUCCESS OF YOUNG NOVI SAD ATHLETES IN DORTMUND
Last week, Sports Athletic Games were held in the German city of Dortmund. As many as nine crews from Germany, Poland, Serbia, Hungary, The Netherlands, Sweden and Belgium competed at this traditional tournament. Novi Sad and Serbia were represented by the AC Vojvodina’s pioneer category, who won six gold, nine silver and thirteen bronze medals, as well as third place in the team competition. Young athletes were supported during the competition in Dortmund by the Head of Mayor’s Office Mr. Aleksandar Petrović, who congratulated them on their magnificent success.
- We are all very proud of our athletes who, year afet year, achieve outstanding results at various international competitions, thereby promoting abroad our city’s and our country’s name. Their trip and stay here is realized within the framework of Novi Sad and Dortmund international cooperation activities, and we will give our best to achieve good results also in the area of culture and economy. – said Mr. Petrović.
During their stay in Dortmund, Head of the Mayor’s Office visited our honorary citizen Ms. Hannelore Lamche. Our City representatives also met with the Mayor of Dortmund Mr. Ullrich Sierau, as well as the Head of Dortmund International Cooperation Office Ms. Jutta Dalka, with whom they discussed potential participation of German companies at the Novi Sad Agricultural Fair, as well as potential cooperation between the two universities. Mr. Petrović also visited the Dortmund Culture Buro, where he discussed with its Director, Mr. Burkhard Rinsche, various aspects of cultural cooperation between the two sister cities.
