The delegation of the City of Novi Sad visited the Hungarian City of Kistelek, which hosted the first workshop in the framework of the project “Joint Creation of Conditions for the Development of SMEs in the Cross-Border Region”. The project is financed from the Hungary-Serbia IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Program and implemented by the City of Novi Sad, that is, by the Local Economic Development Office, in partnership with the Multipurpose Microregional Association of Kistelek.

Dear President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Dačić, Your Excellences, representatives of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Agricultural Fair has become one of the most important economic and business events not only in Novi Sad and our country, but also in this part of Europe, which is justified by the thousands of exhibitors and business ventures launched at the Fair every year.

On Friday evening, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolić, held a welcome speech at the formal ceremony marking the 90th anniversary of the Novi Sad Fair, the oldest institution of its kind in the country.

At the initiative of the head of the Local Economic Development Office of the City of Novi Sad Olivera Simović and the director of the “Public Enterprise for the City Construction and Development” Goran Višnjić and his assistants a roundtable was held today on “Boosting the residential buildings construction in Novi Sad” where the investors and the representatives of civil engineering took an active part.

Mayor of Novi Sad Miloš Vučević and Head of the Mayor’s Office Aleksandar Petrović welcomed the delegation of the Chinese bus manufacturing company Yutong, consisting of Charles Hwang, Liu Xiafei and Zhang Zhemin, as well as the chairman of the board of directors of Neobus JSC Zoran Kijac. The topic of the meeting was restructuring of the Novi Sad bus manufacturing factory and cooperation with the Chinese giant in the field.

Head of the mayor’s office of the City of Novi Sad Aleksandar Petrović, who is also a chairman of the Organizing Committee of the event “The Presentation of Economic and Cultural Potentials of Novi Sad for Businessmen and Representatives of the Diplomatic Corps in the Russian Centre” held a press conference on the occasion of this event which will be held on Friday 29th March starting at 18 pm.

At the invitation of the Conquest network, delegation of the City of Novi Sad, comprising of Mayor Miloš Vučević, manager of Public Utility Company "City Parks" Milan Novaković and manager of "Public Enterprise for City Construction and Development" Goran Višnjić, visited Strasbourg to discuss the possibilities of economic cooperation. The Mayor and his colleagues visited the Conquest network companies (Noremat, Etesia, Husson and Acometis) and talked to their representatives.

The City of Novi Sad in cooperation with the Russian Centre and the Russian Association of Businessmen organized the presentation of the economic and cultural potentials of Novi Sad for businessmen and representatives of the diplomatic corps in the Russian Centre in Belgrade. On this occasion, the president of the City Assembly of Novi Sad Prof. Dr. Siniša Sević and the Russian Centre director Mikhail Denisov Genadievich addressed the audience.

Mayor of Novi Sad Miloš Vučević and Manager of Local Economic Development Office Olivera Simović presented the results of applications for grants in the frameworks of the Hungary-Serbia and Croatia-Serbia IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programs, while detailed information about two projects, from the total of eight approved, were presented by managers of those projects, Mr. Djordje Pisarov and Mrs. Zorica Ninić Stupar.
