UNITED STATES AMBASSADOR VISITS NOVI SAD

Mayor of Novi Sad Mr. Miloš Vučević received today at the City Hall the Ambassador of the United States to the Republic of Serbia H. E. Mr. Michael D. Kirby.

Mayor Vučević pointed out that Novi Sad continues to implement responsible policies in all areas and that it is fully dedicated to development of its potentials. Mr. Vučević also emphasized that among the City Administration’s priorities is furthering economic development, as well as improving living standards of residents of Novi Sad. Continuous cooperation at a local, regional, as well as at the international level is the imperative of local self-government development.

Ambassador Kirby extended his gratitude for the reception, emphasizing that there is always huge potential for strengthening the ties between Novi Sad and the cities in the US, which have already been well established in economic, cultural, sports, as well as numerous other fields of endeavor.

The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Local Economic Development Office Ms. Marijana Dukić Mijatović, Member of the City Council in charge for Budget and Finances Mr. Dejan Mandić, Member of the City Council in charge for Culture Mr. Vanja Vučenović, Advisor to the Mayor for Cultural Affairs Ms. Tijana Delić, as well as by the Deputy Head of the Mayor’s Office Mr. Miodrag Milošević. During the meeting, both sides expressed their mutual pleasure because of the traditionally good relations, as well their intentions for even more productive and fruitful cooperation. 

Participants of the meeting have also agreed that international cooperation is of exceptional importance for development and improvement of the city functioning system, since it offers numerous possibilities for exchange of good practices. It has also been agreed that prospects for cooperation in various aspects are indeed promising, and that new possibilities should constantly be encouraged.
