The Mayor of Novi Sad, Žarko Mićin, attended the official opening of the new building of the “Miloš Crnjanski” Primary School in the Satellite district of Novi Sad, together with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Đuro Macut, and the President of the Provincial Government, Maja Gojković. Mayor Mićin highlighted that the opening of the new school is the result of long-term and responsible planning, as well as the clear commitment of all state institutions to investing in education.

The commemoration dedicated to the memory of the innocent victims of the massacre during the 1942 Novi Sad Raid was held on the plateau in front of the “Family” monument on the Quay of the Raid Victims. Those present were addressed by the Mayor of Novi Sad, Žarko Mićin, and His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, who, concelebrating with the Metropolitan of Bačka Irinej, Bishop of Mohács Damaskin, and Bishop of Osijek-Polje and Baranja Heruvim, also conducted a memorial service for the victims.

The City Council member for Ecology, Energy Efficiency, and Environmental Protection Vanja Petković together with the Mayor’s advisers Siniša Stojšin and Petar Đurđev, received an official delegation from the Chinese city of Nanchang at the City Hall. The delegation was headed by Jiang Xinhong, Deputy Mayor of Nanchang. They were hosted at a working meeting in the Council Hall on the occasion of their visit to Novi Sad from November 25 to 26.

The Mayor of Novi Sad Žarko Mićin met at City Hall with the Ambassador and Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, H.E. Andreas von Beckerath and his associates, extending to them a warm welcome to Novi Sad.

Ambassador von Beckerath congratulated the City of Novi Sad on the successful implementation of European projects and on receiving European titles, emphasising that the results achieved so far provide a solid basis for further deepening of cooperation.

The Mayor of Novi Sad Žarko Mićin attended the ceremony organized by the Jewish Community of Novi Sad in cooperation with the European Initiative for the Preservation of Jewish Cemeteries (ESJF), with the support of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany. The event is part of the program “Jewish Cemeteries of Vojvodina: Preserving Memory, Protecting the Past”, which aims to preserve and protect old Jewish cemeteries across the province as lasting testimonies of the history and culture of the Jewish community.

Fifty of the best students from all elementary schools in Novi Sad are currently visiting the island of Corfu as part of an educational study trip, for which the City of Novi Sad has allocated three million dinars this year.

On the occasion of October 23rd , the Day of Liberation of Novi Sad, the Mayor of Novi Sad Žarko Mićin and the President of the Novi Sad City Assembly Dina Vučinić laid wreaths at the Memorial Cemetery of the fighters of the People's Liberation Wars from 1941-1945.

The Mayor of Novi Sad, Žarko Mićin, attended the opening ceremony of the U23 World Wrestling Championship held in the large hall of SPENS, taking place from October 20 to 27, with the participation of 1,100 competitors from 66 countries around the world.

The Mayor of Novi Sad Žarko Mićin and the President of the City Assembly Dina Vučinić held a meeting with a delegation from the City of Beijing, People's Republic of China, at the City Hall, during their official visit to Serbia.The Beijing delegation included Wang Xian, Deputy Mayor of Beijing; Liu Songbo, Deputy Director General of the Beijing Water Authority; Jin Hang, Deputy Mayor of Fengtai District; Wang Zhengzi, Director General of the Chaoyang District Water Authority; Fan Bin, Deputy Director of the Investment Planning Department of the Beijing Water Authority; and Liang Xiaoqi

The Mayor of Novi Sad Žarko Mićin attended a meeting at the Provincial Government building organized by the President of the Provincial Government Maja Gojković on the occasion of the official visit of a delegation from Fujian Province of the People’s Republic of China. The Chinese delegation was led by Mr. Li Lin, Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office and President of the Fujian People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
