MAYOR MIĆIN AND UKRAINIAN AMBASSADOR DISCUSS FUTURE COOPERATION

The Mayor of Novi Sad Žarko Mićin met with the Ambassador of Ukraine to Serbia H.E. Oleksandr Lytvynenko at City Hall to explore opportunities for future collaboration and to consider concrete initiatives that could enhance cultural, educational, and social ties.
The discussion included measures to ensure the proper protection and restoration of the Taras Shevchenko monument.
The meeting also highlighted the significance of inter-university and regional cooperation, particularly under the Partnership Agreement signed between Novi Sad and the city of Lviv. Both sides agreed that such collaboration is vital for fostering cultural and educational exchanges and supporting young people.
Plans were additionally made to hold an exhibition of Ukrainian decorated Easter eggs, recognised on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
Mayor Mićin and Ambassador Lytvynenko reaffirmed their commitment to continuing and strengthening cooperation across all fields, aiming for future projects that will deepen ties and promote mutual understanding.
