Fort the occasion, 1246 red roses were planted to commemorate the blood of the innocent people of Novi Sad, spilt during the infamous Novi Sad Razzia in 1942.

- When marking the 73rd anniversary of the Novi Sad Holocaust, it was envisioned to plant 1246 red roses, together with the PUE City Greenery, in order to commemorate each and every citizen of Novi Sad who perished during the Razzia of 1942, the infamous pogrom which took place in the vicinity of where we stand now.  The Red Ice of January enchains in pain our city every year. Nevertheless, Novi Sad can and must serve as an example how people of different nations and confessions should live together, in happiness and harmony. – said Mr. Stojković.

Workers of the PUC City Greenery planted 1246 red roses, shaped in a teardrop-like form, which will represent a natural monument to commemorate and revere the citizens of Novi Sad who perished during the 1942 infamous Razzia.
