NIS SIGNS NEW COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH NOVI SAD

Novi Sad Mayor Miloš Vučević and the Serbian Oil Industry (NIS) CEO Kirill Kravchenko signed an agreement on strategic cooperation today, which will enable realization of NIS projects in Novi Sad in the field of sports, culture, science, environment and which will help the socially vulnerable citizens in 2015. The NIS Company will allocate 15 million RSD for these projects. The Agreement relates to the NIS Corporate Program "Cooperation for Development"" which the Company based in Novi Sad, has been conducting for seven years, while an open competition of the same Company, titled “Together for the Community”, has been organized for the past four years.
Besides Novi Sad, NIS Company has signed cooperation agreements with nine more cities and municipalities.
- City of Novi Sad is working daily to improve the quality of life of its citizens. Through the work of public companies and institutions founded by the City and other organizations whose projects we support, we are trying to improve different aspects of life in Novi Sad, such as the utility system, health sector or social welfare, environmental protection, sport, education sectors….. However, the support of the City is not sufficient to realize all the ideas and activities that can contribute to the development of the local community and it is, therefore, of the utmost importance that companies have awareness of the need to invest in communities where they conduct business. One of highly socially responsible companies is the Serbian Oil Industry. As the name of the Program "Cooperation for Development" suggests, there is no development and progress without partner relations. I would like to thank NIS, the Company that has been substantially affecting the quality of life in numerous municipalities and cities of our country for seven years already – said Mayor Vučević.

NIS CEO Kirill Kravchenko said that success is worthwhile only if shared with others and if invested in the improvement and development of good ideas. Mr. Kravchenko emphasized that the Company will continue its support to local communities, in order to facilitate the functioning of numerous institutions and improve the operations of cultural, educational and sports institutions.

The open competition will last 5th–26th February and all citizen associations and other institutions from ten local communities and the City of Belgrade, which joined the program last year, will be able to apply with their projects from the domains of sport, culture, environmental protection, science and aid to socially vulnerable groups. Detailed information about the open competition "Together for the Community" will be available at www.zajednicizajedno.nis.eu.
