"LET'S PLANT NOW FOR THE FUTURE OF NOVI SAD" CAMPAIGN HAS BEEN LAUNCHED

Novi Sad's Mayor, Milan Đurić, was present at the launch of the "Let’s Plant Now for the Future of Novi Sad" initiative, which was put together by the "Green Chair" Working Group, the City Administration for Environmental Protection, and the Public Utility Company "City Greenery". The City of Novi Sad launched the planting campaign as a special, systemic activity that is a part of the Plan for the Reconstruction of Public Green Areas for the period 2023–2027. Regular planting will be carried out in conjunction with this campaign to maintain greenery on public green areas.

- This year's planting will be funded with 36 million RSD from the City budget. We are thankful to socially conscious companies for contributing an additional 18 million RSD to that amount. With the Reconstruction Plan being implemented, about 6,000 trees will be planted over the course of the next five years. People need to be aware that this is twice as many trees as were lost in two summer storms that destroyed the "green fund". We launched the largest planting drive in Novi Sad together today, just as we swiftly responded and began repairing the damage back then. Along with this action, PUC "City Greenery" continues to conduct regular operations and regular planting program, which amounts to two and a half thousand newly planted trees per year, so that we will now plant a record 4,000 trees annually - said the Mayor.

Apart from the Mayor, the planting was also attended by the president of the City Assembly, Jelena Marinković Radomirović, a member of the City Council Mira Radenović, a large number of volunteers, and representatives of companies that practise social responsibility: Danube Insurance, Generali Insurance, Postal Savings Bank, Coca-cola, Serbia Epic, Inobačka construction company, Energotehnika - Južna Bačka, BENU pharmacy, Energy net  and Synechron.
