THE EVENT "INTERNATIONAL DAYS OF ENERGY AND INVESTMENT “OPENS AT THE NOVI SAD FAIR

The event "International Days of Energy and Investment", in which the City of Novi Sad participates as a partner City, was opened at the Novi Sad Fair today.

On this occasion, at the stand of the City of Novi Sad, there was a promotion of investment projects of the City with the participation of the Manager of the Local Economic Development Office, prof. Marijana Dukić Mijatović, PhD, followed by a member of the City Council in charge of utility affairs, Mr. Vladimir Stojković, a member of the City Council in charge of Economy, Mr. Goran Sečujski , as well as the PC "City Construction and Development Novi Sad" manager, Mr. Dejan Mandić. Moreover, the promotion was attended by a Secretary of the Energy Secretariat of the City of Belgrade, Mr. Marko Stojanović and the Mayor of Zrenjanin, Mr. Čedomir Janjić.

- City of Novi Sad has had a series of intense activities in the field of energy in the previous period. Late last year we adopted the Sustainable Development Strategy of the City of Novi Sad, for the next five years, where we have included 163 projects, out of which a large number is related to the energy efficiency, improvement of the energy sector, and of course, green energy. Likewise, during the course of the Fair, we will focus on investments. We are proud that with the help of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, we are opening a new Work Zone North 4, with an exceptional investment potential, and in addition this, we can offer a range of other attractive locations for investors. The arrival "Delphi" and "Lear" companies in Novi Sad puts us on the investment map at a global level - prof. Marijana Dukić Mijatović, PhD, said.
PC "City Construction and Development Novi Sad" manager, Mr. Dejan Mandić said that the completion of the fourth phase of the Boulevard of Europe is of crucial importance for the City. He stressed that this has created conditions to develop the land around the aforementioned Boulevard and adapt it to urban purposes, while there are 900 hectares of land in total along the Boulevard ready for further development, to be offered to investors.

- Another very important activity is land development of the Work Zone North 4. In the first phase, 19 ha of land and two locations are being developed, with a provision of utility and road infrastructure. By the end of October 2016, at the site of 8 ha a commercial facility for the Company “Lear" will be built, while there is another location of 6 ha which is currently developed as to be offered to a new potential investor – Mr. Dejan Mandić emphasized.

Member of the City Council in charge of Economy, Mr. Goran Sečujski, presented the significant results of the City of Novi Sad in the field of employment.

- The City has allocated huge funds for stimulation of the employment sector, which is very important, both for domestic and foreign investors. In the last three years, we have set high standards when it comes to support of employment and Novi Sad was reasonably enough titled the best self-local government , that is an example of innovation when it comes to employment and support of investments, in 2014 - Mr. Goran Sečujski pointed out.

Secretary of the Energy Secretariat of the City of Belgrade, Mr. Marko Stojanović, said that the City of Novi Sad and Belgrade, as the two largest local self-governments in the state, have a special responsibility and obligation in all aspects of development as future leaders and promoters of new projects and ideas. He pointed out that this event is a real opportunity to strengthen the quality of cooperation that has been achieved so far and to exchange the experience in order to achieve even better results.

After the promotion of the City of Novi Sad, at the "Master" Congress Centre, a panel discussion titled "Energy and Investments in Local Self-Governments” was held, where a member of the City Council in charge of utility affairs, Mr. Vladimir Stojković, presented the projects within the utility sector, such as the central City wastewater purifier and the establishment of a regional waste management system.

The event "International Days of Energy and Investment" will last until Friday, March 11th, and the exhibitors and visitors of the Novi Sad Fair will find a rich program, both in the exhibition, as well as in the congress segment, with presentations of the most current topics in the field of the energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, construction, environmental protection, as well as the climate change.
