CITY FINANCES TRAINING COURSES FOR WEB DESIGNERS AND DEVELOPERS

City of Novi Sad, through the City Administration for Economy, within the implementation of measures "Training for Scarce Occupations" from the Employment Action Plan for 2015 has funded training in web technologies. The first group of 25 trainees have mastered the skills of web design (HTML, CSS and Photoshop) and gained an excellent starting point for further improvement and learning about web design and web technologies, while second round of training for 25 more students for PHP developers is in progress. The trainees for web designers were awarded with Certificates of Completion of Training by the Member of the City Council in charge of Economy Goran Sečujski, MSc.

- Through the Employment Action Plan, the City of Novi Sad funded the measures for further education and training of the unemployed in recent years. This year, however, on the basis of the National Employment Service survey results, which showed that there is a shortage of personnel in IT sector, we decided to finance this type of training for the first time. I hope that the trainees will continue to improve their knowledge and for those who do not find employment by next year, when we open a new Competition for self-employment, I hope they will turn to us and for reasons of wanting to run a private business - Goran Sečujski, MSc, said.

Head of Department for Mediation in Employment and Career Planning in Novi Sad Branch, with the National Employment Service, Mr. Dušan Marjanović explained that the labor market in Novi Sad is missing at least 3,000 IT experts.

- A survey on scarce occupations on the City of Novi Sad territory showed deficiency in different profiles of programmers. It was not easy to form a group of 50 people who will receive training for web designers and PHP developers, but we managed to do it and we plan to work on their further development and engagement. The goal of this training is to put gained knowledge into practice, and we will help the trainees through the program of self-employment, but also through our recommendation for their employment in those companies with which we nurture good cooperation- Dušan Marjanović explained.

The training took place in the Computer School "Smart School". The training program was specially created for the unemployed, and with extended teaching hours the trainees have been provided more time of practical knowledge acquisition.
