54TH TOURISM FAIR OPENED IN NOVI SAD

The 54th International Tourism Fair, held at the Novi Sad Fair till December 2, was formally opened by Novi Sad Mayor Milan Đurić.

- The event, which has successfully split away from the well-known LORIST and is taking place independently for the second year in a row, is proudly hosted by the City of Novi Sad this year as well. As we proudly celebrate Novi Sad Fair centenary and grand jubilee this year, the Tourism Fair now marks another crucial piece in this success story. I hope the exhibitors make a lot of business contacts and sign lots of contracts, and that the tourism offers inspire all of the visitors -the Mayor said expressing optimism that even more visitors than the previous year will gladly enter the Novi Sad Fair during these three free Fair days. The Mayor then mentioned the tourism-related data that the City of Novi Sad is tracking.
- According to official statistics, from January to September of this year, over 175,000 tourists visited Novi Sad, up 11.1 percent from the same time previous year. Furthermore, almost 430,000 overnight stays were recorded in the first nine months of 2023—a rise of 6.2 percent – he remarked. As Mayor Milan Đurić welcomed the exhibitors who had travelled from 11 countries, he added that a record of 600,000 overnight stays is expected to be reached by the end of the year.

Along with the Mayor, other speakers at the event included the general director of the Novi Sad Fair, Nikola Lovrić; the provincial secretary for economy and tourism, Nenad Ivanišević; the general consul of Montenegro, Nevenka Ćirović; and Uroš Kandić, the state secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Youth. Over 240 exhibitors from the country and abroad will present themselves at this year's Fair event, whose Partner Region is Boka Kotorska, and entrance for visitors is free.
