12th BELGRADE DANCE FESTIVAL BEGINS
The 12th Belgrade Dance Festival officially began today in Serbian National Theater, with a London’s Sadler's Wels Milonga performance, choreographed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. The opening performance was attended by the Advisor to the Mayor in charge for Culture Ms. Tijana Delić.
- Belgrade Dance Festival represents a true confirmation of our City’s high-quality cultural policy. This year, in cooperation with international institutions such as United States Embassy, Novi Sad will host several prestigious cultural programs, with high-quality production and some of the most renowned names and brands in our culture. – said Ms. Delić.
As part of the opening ceremony, a photo exhibition of Aleksandar Antonijević art dance was on display at the Theater foyer. Having one of the most prominent positions among European art dance festivals, the Belgrade Dance Festival, in its 12th edition from March 23rd to April 9th, will present our audience an appealing choice of world-class performances. This festival has hosted so far nearly 200 superlative performances of some of the most important contemporary choreographers. Each year Festival has an average of 18,000 visitors and is followed by 120 accredited journalists, from Serbia and from abroad.
