SECOND MEETING OF THE MISSION PROJECT STEERING CОММITIE, ANTWERP SEPTEMBER 2025

The second meeting of the MISSION Project Steering Commitie was held on 19th September 2025 in Antwerp, Belgium, at the premises of the University of Antwerp.
The representative of the lead partner “Politecnico di Milano” opened the meeting and presented the conclusions of the European Transport Conference (ETC) which was held the previous day, also at the University of Antwerp. The ETC conference is one of the largest and most prestigious conferences in the field of transport in the world.
At this event, Phd Aleksandar Bulajić, Member of the City Council for Traffic and Roads of the City of Novi Sad, presented the conclusions of the “Study for the Identification and Ranking of High-Risk Locations Including Cyclists and Pedestrians in the City Area of Novi Sad”. The study was developed within the MISSION project, and, in addition to other relevant data, will serve to prepare a smart application (“SmartApp”) that is currently in the development phase.
In the continuation of the meeting of the Project Steering Committee, the heads of work packages and tasks presented to the gathering what has been done so far and what is the plan for the implementation of the project in the coming period. Also, the activities carried out during the second reporting period were presented, with a focus on the financial aspect. The formation of working groups among the partners and the key administrative and technical activities for implementation were particularly emphasized, and the conclusion is that so far, everything is being implemented in accordance with the project plan. The activities related to the promotion of the project carried out by the lead partner were also presented and instructions were given to the project members for the upcoming promotional activities.
The second part of the meeting was opened by representatives of PLUSERVICE S.R.L. (Italy), responsible for the technical implementation of the pilot project, i.e. the development of a smart application that promotes multi-modal mobility solutions using information on integrated travel solutions (e.g. public transport and cycling). They also presented the conceptual design of the application and pointed out certain solutions. Of course, the smart application will be designed with the active involvement of citizens and stakeholders, and this will be followed by testing the application in five cities in the Adriatic-Ionian region. During their presentation, representatives of PLUSERVICE S.R.L. (Italy) stated that they plan to prepare the first version of the application in the first half of 2026.
The representative of the University of Patras emphasized that it is crucial for the application to contain as much collected open data as possible, for the sake of a more meaningful user experience, and with the representatives of PLUSERVICE, it was agreed that this would be the focus of the activities of all partners in the project in the coming months.
On behalf of the City of Novi Sad, Mr. Zoran Ivošević presented the activities carried out during the second reporting period by the City of Novi Sad - City Administration for Traffic and Roads, as a partner in this project.
The meeting ended with a discussion on upcoming activities and meetings during the duration of the project, the next meeting of the Steering Committee is planned for February 2026.
