RECEPTION FOR CHILDREN FROM ŠTRPCE
Deputy Mayor of the City of Novi Sad Mr. Borko Ilić held a reception for the children from Štrpce Municipality, from Kosovo and Metohija, who visited our city from January 25th to January 31st.
- If we think of the fact that majority of the children present here has so far never been out of the southernmost Serbian enclave in Kosovo and Metohija, this makes their visit even more significant, and our pleasure even greater. I am truly honored for the opportunity to welcome these children, and also very glad they will get to know our city and make friends with their peers from Novi Sad. The City will in turn, according to its capabilities, continue to assist Serbian municipalities in Kosovo and Metohija. – stated Mr. Ilić and extended his gratitude to the organizers, school staff, parents, as well as the children who hosted students from Kosovo and Metohija.
On behalf of the guests, Deputy Mayor and hosts were thanked by the organizer Mr. Zvonko Mihajlović, who emphasized that the most important aspect of their visit is the friendship established between the children of Novi Sad and Štrpce.
The visit was organized by the Serbian Office of the International Public Fund “Orthodox Peoples’ Unity” in Novi Sad, within the framework of “With All Your Heart for a Child’s Smile” project. The children are hosted by their peers from Dušan Radović and Žarko Zrenjanin Primary Schools. During the stay, the children had the opportunity to learn more about Novi Sad history and its landmarks, as well as to enjoy numerous cultural, sport and entertainment programs.
