LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OFFICE

The Local Economic Development Office was founded on December 27, 2008 as part of the Service of Executive Authorities of the City of Novi Sad, with the support of the American Agency for International Development (USAID).

The Office operates in two basic ways: attracts domestic and foreign investments and provides assistance to the existing business community. With its work, the Office endeavors to upgrade the business climate in Novi Sad and give incentive to faster development of the City.

Key tasks of the Local Economic Development Office

• The promotion of the City in the country and abroad as propitiatory for investment, business activity and life – internet marketing, production of promotional material, visitation of fairs and other manifestations in the economic field.
• Informing potential investors and existing proprietors about business conditions, investment possibilities, existing support programs and incentives at local and national level.
• Cooperation with private, public and non-governmental sectors, coordination of their activities and abetment of private public partnerships.
• Preparation and monitoring of the realization of projects, linked to local economic development.
• Identification of needs and assistance with solving problems of the local business community, with the purpose of improving competition and the abetment of development of the existing economy.
• Creation and maintenance of a databank, important for the business of the existing economy as well as potential investors.
• Provision of expert and administrative-technical services to the Commerce Council of the City of Novi Sad and the Commission for the Strategy of Economic Development of the City of Novi Sad.
