MAYOR VUČEVIĆ VISITS DELPHI COMPANY MANUFACTURING FACILITY
Novi Sad Mayor, Mr. Miloš Vučević, visited Delphi Company manufacturing facility; the Company which will employ a total of 3,000 people in our country by the end of 2018, out of which 2,000 in Novi Sad.
- Everything that we announced and what we fought for more than a year has come to life and for me, as a Mayor in this term, it was essential to create new jobs and new factories. Parts for Volvo products are being produced in Novi Sad and this represents the best thing for me at the end of this term. Five hundred people who have completed their training in Romania are working today in Delphi. By the end of August, the number of employees will rise to 1,000, by the end of 2016 to 1,300, and a total of 2,000 people will be employed, for which an agreement was reached with the central government. I am very pleased that we have opened a new factory in our City after a long time, because it strengthens the economy, it fills the budget and contributes to the overall development of the City of Novi Sad. Given the fact that Delphi will invest in another City in Serbia as well, we can conclude that this Company sees our country as a good place to do business - Mayor Vučević pointed out.
Delphi Company representative, Mr. Vincent Fagard expressed his great satisfaction with the visit of the City representatives to the manufacturing facility where, as he said, the works are well under way and quite satisfactory.
- Our previous customers have assessed that the products that are produced in this facility meet their standards and needs. The next big step for us is to increase the plant capacity and to employ new people. The works on the renovation of Neobus facility have progressed and the plan is to move there in July, where we will achieve full capacity of Novi Sad investments - Mr. Fagard said.
He estimated that the labor force in Serbia is at a high level, that people are motivated and dedicated to their work, which significantly affects the bottom line of the Company business operations. Likewise, he expressed his great satisfaction with the cooperation with representatives of the City, as well as with other relevant public authorities, so that, as he said, he will give good recommendations for Serbia and Novi Sad to his colleagues from the world of business.
