MAYOR PRESENTED 444 VIDOVDAN AWARDS TO THE BEST STUDENTS OF NOVI SAD

The Mayor of Novi Sad, Žarko Mićin, together with the President of the City Assembly of Novi Sad, Dina Vučinić, presented the Vidovdan Awards in the Ceremonial Hall of the City Hall to students from Novi Sad’s primary and secondary schools who won prizes at national and international competitions during the past school year. The award consists of a certificate of commendation and a monetary prize.
-Today is a day when the City of Novi Sad traditionally honors its exceptional students for their hard work. We are presenting the Vidovdan Awards to young people who, through their effort, knowledge, and perseverance, have demonstrated what true success in education means. These awards are not just a certificate and a monetary gift – they are a symbol of dedication, discipline, and diligence that we, as a society and as a city, deeply respect. They speak of what you have already achieved, but even more so, of what you can become and what you are yet to accomplish. This year was marked by unimaginable challenges, which I hope will never be repeated, making your accomplishments all the more valuable. I sincerely congratulate you on receiving the Vidovdan Award. Dream quietly, work bravely, and let your deeds be your loudest answer and the clearest indicator of what you are capable of. I wish you success and wisdom in everything that lies ahead -said Mayor Mićin.
In this school year, a total of 444 Vidovdan awards were presented to 362 students, including 207 awards to 176 primary school students and 224 awards to 174 secondary school students. In addition, based on a decision by the Mayor of Novi Sad, 13 special Vidovdan Awards were presented to students for exceptional achievements at scientific Olympiads and at world and European competitions and championships in sports and arts for school-aged children.
The City of Novi Sad allocated 6,220,000 dinars for these awards for the 2024/2025 school year.
