MAYOR MIĆIN MEETS WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF JAPAN

At the City Hall, Novi Sad Mayor Žarko Mićin met with H.E. Imamura Akira, the Japanese Ambassador. The Mayor greeted him warmly and said he was very happy with his visit. As was determined during the discussion, the shared affection between the peoples of Serbia and Japan stems from years of positive diplomatic relations between the two nations, and as a result, both parties are willing to increase their economic and cultural interaction.
Mayor Mićin thanked the Ambassador for the valuable donations from Japan to Serbia and Novi Sad in various spheres of social life. The interlocutors referred to the cooperation between the University of Novi Sad and the University of Okayama, as well as to the cooperation with the Japanese organization "EU-Japan Fest" implemented within the project "Novi Sad - European Capital of Culture".
The Japan Business Alliance in Serbia was also highlighted; it was established with the help of Japan and at the initiative of Japanese businesses that operate in Serbia.It is excellent that the Japanese business community in Serbia is expanding, Mayor Mićin and Ambassador Akira said, highlighting the significance of the Novi Sad-based company Nidek. They specifically emphasized the area of high technologies as one where collaboration may be possible.
-The city has intense international cooperation and has five twin cities from the Asian continent. Novi Sad is unstoppably moving towards development, primarily as a modern economic community with an extremely favorable business environment because investment in all other vital spheres of life directly depends on the economy - Mayor Žarko Mićin said and added -We are constantly broadening our global network of friends in an effort to keep our collaboration vibrant and productive.Our attention is on intricate environmental protection projects, and we are working hard to make sure that the city's constantly expanding infrastructure fully satisfies its demands.
A shared desire to forge greater ties between Novi Sad and a Japanese city with comparable features was voiced during the meeting, and Ambassador Imamura Akira thanked everyone for the cordial welcome.
