Introducing MISSION to future transportation engineers at the University of Patras

On May 28, 2025, the MISSION project was presented to undergraduate students of the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Patras in Greece, during the “Intelligent Cities, Infrastructure and Transport” course, held by Professor Yorgos Stephanedes.
Τhe presentation focused on the project’s goal of developing Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) to promote sustainable, multimodal urban mobility across the Adriatic-Ionian region.
Students were introduced to:
The development of a smart mobility app (SmartApp), which will be designed and tested with input from stakeholders and citizens.
How this tool will support sustainable mobility solutions, competitive with private cars and tailored to various urban environments and the safety of users.
The logical framework of the project, including the design, integration of transport data, and pilot testing adapted to the mobility needs of each participating city.
The common features and functions that enable the SmartApp to provide useful travel information, despite the diversity of local conditions.
Special thanks to Prof. Stephanedes and all the students for their participation in the discussion on sustainable and innovative mobility!
