FOURTH EDITION OF “ELECTRIC VEHICLE DAYS“ OPENS IN NOVI SAD

Held on Thursday, September 12, and Friday, September 13, the fourth edition of "ELECTRIC VEHICLE DAYS" was officially launched at the Novi Sad Fair. Leading businesses from the automotive sector, producers of parts, accessories, and software for electric cars, as well as pioneers in the infrastructure and charging of electric and hybrid cars, are all gathered together. Miloš Vučević, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, opened the event. Following him were Milan Đurić, the Mayor of Novi Sad, and professor Boris Dumnić, who spoke on behalf of the Organizing Committee.

-Novi Sad is renowned for being among the most advanced regions in our nation when it comes to establishing the concept of the Smart City, largely due to the University of Novi Sad, specifically the Faculty of Technical Sciences, as well as the assistance it receives at the state level. Ten of the City's buses are electric, and 110 of them run on compressed natural gas (CNG). Better air quality is the result of zero hazardous gas emissions, which is a benefit. The most significant benefit that the NS smart application provides to citizens is the ability to track bus movements in real time. Other benefits include electronic transportation payments and many more that simplify daily living. Bicycles are a healthy mode of transportation that we support, and the development of bicycle infrastructure is given special consideration. We assist with the purchase, provide the option to rent, and ultimately award bicycles to Novi Sad's top pupils. We're investing in parks, going green, and installing a smart air quality management system. In the heart of our City, we opened the first underground public garage complete with charging stations for electric cars. We also plan on opening a public garage on Modena Street by the end of the year. But capital infrastructure projects, mainly the building of three bridges, are what will significantly improve people's lives and have evident, immediate consequences. The heavy freight traffic will be moved out of the City with the construction of the bridge in the Europe Boulevard expansion and the bridge between Kovilj and Petrovaradin local communities. Given that we are located along the way of the high-speed railway that runs from Belgrade to Novi Sad, Subotica, and Budapest, there will be less traffic bottlenecks, greater mobility, and improved traffic communication overall, making our City a modern communication center. The construction of a pedestrian-bicycle bridge on the pillars of the Franc Jozef bridge is also planned, which will create conditions for moving traffic from the Fortress suburbs and contribute to the preservation of this pearl for future generations - said Mayor Đurić.

According to Miloš Vučević, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, the fifth industrial revolution is already under way, and Serbia cannot afford to lose out on this opportunity or fall behind the rest of the world by making poor judgments.

- The definition of sustainable development must be determined for ourselves, but we must also remember that, like defense and security investments, environmental preservation is also an act of patriotism. Instead of using catchphrases, this is accomplished by looking for the correct solutions in the area of sustainable development. It is wonderful that a more transparent conversation on strategic choices will take place on the panel at this event, where I am happy to hear from people with varying opinions on the subjects I have raised - pointed out Prime Minister Miloš Vučević.

Apart from the showcase section of the event including over forty electric vehicle models ranging from cars to buses, car charging stations, bicycles, tricycles, and tractors, there will also be a conference featuring six panel discussions. Visitors will be able to test-drive over a dozen automobile models from various categories, types, and pricing ranges in the testing zone. "Ninamedia" and the Faculty of Technical Sciences are the event organizers.
