Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) in Function of Preventing Dropout and Increase of Education Attainment of Roma Children in Novi Sad
The project was implemented in partnership with the Center for Production of Knowledge and Skills as the project promoter and the Center for Social Work of the City of Novi Sad and the City of Novi Sad - City Administration for Education as a partner.
Overall objective of the project: To contribute to reducing inequalities and improving the educational and social inclusion of the most vulnerable groups, primarily Roma, in Serbia.
Specific objectives of the project:
1) Increased number of Roma girls and boys aged 3.5-5 years in preschool and increased parental competences of their parents in Novi Sad.
2) Measures to encourage early development, education and upbringing, as well as measures to prevent dropout included in local policies.
3) Increased percentage of Roma girls and boys in schools in Novi Sad.
This project was supported by the European Union through the IPA 2013 program: Development of effective community-based services in the field of education and social protection at the local level with EUR 151,036.92, while the co-financing amounted to EUR 16,781.88.
