CUBAN AMBASSADOR VISITS NOVI SAD
The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Serbia, H.E. Leyde Ernesto Rodríguez Hernández, was met by Novi Sad's Mayor, Milan Đurić, in the City Hall. He greeted him warmly and gave him a more thorough overview of how the City of Novi Sad's local self-government operates.
Expressing gratitude for the cordial welcome, Ambassador Hernández stated that, in addition to the fields of health and tourism, the field of culture is the most crucial for the rapprochement of the peoples of Serbia and Cuba. During the meeting, new forms of cooperation in the fields of education and economy were also discussed.The Ambassador underlined that he was visiting Novi Sad in part because he was going to the events being held in the library of the "Mileva Marić Einstein" Technical School, also known as the "Jose Marti” library, to commemorate the 171st anniversary of the Cuban poet and hero birth.
The Mayor Đurić stressed that the Cuban Embassy will always have a close friend and partner in the City, and that both parties want to maintain but also further expand their relationship.
