CHILDREN’S EMOTIONAL COMPETENCE DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR

Member of the City Council in charge for Health Professor Zoltan Horvat, PhD MD attended the Children’s Emotional Competence Development Seminar, organized by the Public Health Institute of Vojvodina, specially intended for kindergarten and primary school teachers, pedagogues and psychologists from the City of Novi Sad territory and the “Radosno Detinjstvo” Preschool Institution.  

- Working and conversing with children on subject such as emotions is of the utmost importance for their development. In this manner, we provide a solid foundation for satisfactory social adjustment, since it is those children able to recognize and express their emotions who have more successful relations with their peers, which is extremely significant for their age. This type of educational work with children contributes to better atmosphere and more successful resolutions of conflict situations, whose ultimate goal is prevention of violence. In this way we strive to contribute our children’s healthier growing up. – said Professor Zoltan Horvat, PhD MD, and added that the City will continue to support such projects in the future as well.

On this occasion the “We Talk about Emotions in 2015” calendar was presented, prepared by the Public Health Institute of Vojvodina, with the support of Health Care City Administration. The calendar is envisaged to assist in work with preschool and junior primary school children, on the subject of emotional competence development.
