CHARITY KICKBOXING EVENT HELD FOR THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE

Tatjana Medved, member of the City Council for Sports and Youth, officially opened the “Kickboxing Gala Novi Sad 2025” – a world title match featuring our fellow citizen Aleksandra Krstić. The event took place in the small hall of the “Vojvodina” Sports and Business Center, organized by the Kickboxing Federation of Novi Sad.

- The title of ‘European City of Sport 2026’ is an acknowledgment Novi Sad received for its outstanding sports policy, extensive sports infrastructure, the promotion and accessibility of sports for all, as well as top-tier athletic achievements. Today, under the spotlight, we are not just celebrating victory – but also willpower, passion, dedication, and the identity Novi Sad is building through sports and its synergy with sports organizations. Together, we implement numerous sports programs, events, and activities throughout the year. Novi Sad has champions in many sports, including an impressive tradition in kickboxing. At today’s event, we are watching fighters who represent the future of our combat sports scene, and we proudly support our fellow citizen, Aleksandra Krstić. The city is proud of all athletes and sports professionals because their efforts are reflected in both results and the high quality of sports event organization. I thank them all for their commitment and the energy they invest in sport - said Tatjana Medved, adding that the City allocated 7,250,000 dinars from this year’s budget to fund kickboxing programs.

The event featured seven matches with 14 participants from Italy, Montenegro, Hungary, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated for the medical treatment of Eva Bajić, a former member of Serbia’s national kickboxing team.
