SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS OF NOVI SAD DISTANT HEATING COMPANY

Mayor of Novi Sad Mr. Miloš Vučević, together with the Manager of the Novi Sad PUE Distant Heating Mr. Dobrosav Arsović, held a press conference today summarizing the company’s business results, emphasizing the finalization of works on the Plant North, as well as commencement of works on the Plant East.

- A new 1,850,000-Euro-worth boiler has been put into operation at the Plant North, while the Distant Heating Enterprise is accessing another high-scale investment of 2,238,000 Euros. What we are talking about is reconstruction of the Plant North, the facility of which is almost forty years old.  All this will significantly improve the technical system, thermal energy delivery, as well as the overall system energy efficiency. I wish to commend the management, but more importantly, our workers’ expertise and diligence who, during last year, succeeded in laying or replacing thousands of meters of distant heating pipelines throughout the city. All this significantly contributed to the overall stability of the system. Since the previously accumulated huge debts of the company have been settled, which I consider to be a great success in its own right, I am now truly convinced that a period of conscientious business policy and of prosperity is to follow, thereby securing long-term financial stability. – stated Mayor Vučević.

Following the press conference, Mayor Vučević and Manager Arsović toured the reconstructed and the expanded facility of the Plant North. Reconstruction works on the plant have been realized within the framework of the “Distant Heating System Rehabilitation in Serbia – Phase IV” Project, while the contractor was the consortium headed by the „REMMING D.O.O.“, as well „Mikro Kontrol d.o.o.“ and „Best izgradnja“ d.o.o. The program is being implemented within the German-Serbian economic cooperation program, and is financed from the loan by German Development Bank. Manager Arsović emphasized that from now on Plant North will have sufficient capacities to provide thermal energy for its coverage territory, while the quality and reliability of delivery will be significantly improved.

- We have secured financial stability for our company by entirely settling its outstanding debts towards the banks, as well as by rescheduling the obligations towards PE Srbijagas and Thermal Power Plant-Distant Heating Company Novi Sad, which we consider an exceptional achievement. The plan is to commence with one more strategically important and significant investment. What we are talking about here is the reconstruction of the 37-year old circular facility within Plant East. This investment will be realized also within the framework of the “Distant Heating System Rehabilitation in Serbia – Phase IV” Project, while the works will be performed by a consortium headed by Energotehnika Južna Bačka Company. – stated Manager Arsović.
