Mayor of Novi Sad Miloš Vučević and Head of the Novi Sad Police Department Siniša Radaković attended the official start of work of the Stevan Hladni Police Precinct in Novi Naselje.

- It is my wish to extended my sincerest gratitude to Minister Stefanović and Head of the Novi Sad Police Administration Siniša Radaković, for their decision to open a police precinct in Novo Naselje after many years. For the people of Novi Sad, it is a very important move, the one that has been awaited for many years, and I truly hope that Novi Sad Police Administration will open the precinct in its full capacity as soon as possible. The City of Novi Sad is ready to assist the precinct immediately in providing it IT equipment as well as all other technical requirements necessary for their unobstructed work. The key question for us is the one of our citizens’ safety in Novo Naselje, one of the largest neighborhoods in our city, which has been waiting for a precinct for years now, and I hope that in this way we will enable our police officers to be much more visible in the streets and accessible to all the residents of Novo Naselje and Satelit neighborhoods. – said Mayor Vučević and emphasized his hopes that a new staffing scheme will be adopted soon to provide employees for the Novo Naselje Police Precinct.

Head of the Novi Sad Police Administration Mr. Siniša Radaković said that, according to the Interior Minister’s decision, from today Novo Naselje Police Precinct starts its activities, which is only an initial step towards establishing a proper Police Section for this area.

- At yesterday’s meeting with Minster Stefanović, we agreed that as early as Monday morning we would deliver propositions to the Ministy of Interior for establishing a new police precinct, as well as a new staffing scheme for the Novo Naselje Police Section.  Currently, we have 32 employees at our disposal we managed to provide by redistribution of our staff resources, and it is our expectation that our suggestion, which envisages 96 police officers, will be solved in the shortest possible notice. – said Mr. Radaković and emphasized that the final goal is to make the police closer to the citizens, to be at their service at all times, as well as to raise public safety to much higher level.
