FREE JUDO TRAINING FOR JOVAN DUČIĆ PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Head of the Mayor’s Office Mr. Aleksandar Petrović visited today Jovan Dučić Primary School in Petrovaradin, where Judo Club “Borac” organizes free training lessons for students. The training is part of a broader effort to organize free sport activities for primary school students of Novi Sad, which in turn significantly contributes primary school violence prevention.

- The “Stop the Violence – Let the Sport Be Your Choice” Project was launched this summer, at the city beach Štrand. Due to the fact that a large number children and youth showed their interest for this sport, we decided to continue the effort which enables our primary and secondary school students to learn real values, and develop their awareness towards sports. – stated Mr. Petrović

President of the Judo Club “Borac” Mr. Žarko Mićin extended his gratitude to Mayor Vučević, to the City of Novi Sad, to the Local Community of Petrovaradin, as well as to the Jovan Dučić Primary School for their support throughout the realization of the effort, whose main aim is primary schools violence prevention.

- Judo is a noble discipline which strengthens the body and soul, enabling the children to become sturdy and free. Free training sessions will be held three times a week, and we will try our best to continue the effort in more primary schools throughout Novi Sad. – underlined Mr. Mićin and appealed to children to take up judo, the sport which contributes their overall development, strengthens their physical and functional capabilities.
